Matt is from homegrown roots in his hometown of Monterey, California (home of the Monterey Jazz Festival). Growing up in the Jazz scene he was instructed by Mike Shannon who taught him how to adapt to any musical setting as a drummer. Beginning to tour in high school as well as his early college years, Matt found his love for touring and session work. “Playing in different settings like Jazz, and small trios, as well pop and rock groups has allowed me to drum in a more musical way and apply that to any scenario that may arise I feel.” Matt states. Matt has recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee to continue to pursue his career in both session and touring work as a drummer.
